NBC News recently gave a special report on the new healthcare crisis – medical record theft.  Medical record fraud is up over 11,000% last year and 1 in 3 Americans have been a victim.  Unlike credit cards, which can be canceled and reissued, medical records contain everything pertaining to a person’s identity.  This information can be used to make fraudulent claims, get a new health insurance policy, take out new credit card debt, or even drain a bank account.  This can literally ruin a person’s life and reputation, and should not be taken lightly.

Your patients will see this, so be prepared to answer the question:

“What are you doing to protect my records?”
